Quick Q and A!

If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

My favourite characters🥰

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jo from Little Women, Black Widow, and Hermione Granger.

On the surface they’re very different characters, but when I think about why I love them, it makes perfect sense.

Buffy is strong, funny, and keeps going even when she’s hurt. She has that habit of telling people she’s fine even when she’s struggling, and just pushing through anyway. I understand that more than I probably should which is why I adore this character so much.

Jo March is a completely different kind of strength, but I love her just as much. What I’ve always admired about Jo is that she could have taken the expected path. She could have married Theodore “Laurie” Laurence, the neighbour who adored her, and stepped into the life that would have made perfect sense to everyone around her. But she didn’t. She chose her own path instead. Not because the other path was wrong, but because it wasn’t truly hers. For a woman in that time, I think that took real courage. Little Women, forever one of my favourite books.

Black Widow is just cool, but not in a shallow way. She’s strong, funny, smart, and always thinking outside the box. She doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. She just is. I’ve always liked that kind of strength.

And Hermione? She’s a kick arse witch, obviously, but more than that she’s intelligent in a practical way. She learns, she thinks, she acts, and she uses what she knows when it matters. I’ve always liked that too.

When I look at all four of them together, I can see the pattern. They’re women who think for themselves. Women who are strong in different ways. Women who keep going. They are resilient, adaptable, and don’t let fear stop them from doing things. Women who don’t just choose the expected path because it’s there.

I think that’s why they stayed with me.

Maybe the characters we love most aren’t random at all. Maybe sometimes they reflect back the parts of ourselves we already know are there.

And sometimes they reflect the parts of ourselves we had to fight hard to become.

My Faves!
