I hit 1,000 likes on Roaming Towards Myself today.
Tiny internet milestone? Maybe.
But for me, it means people are finding this strange little corner I’m building: the blog, the travel posts, the books, the Etsy bits, the starting-again-at-55 chaos, and whatever else I decide to throw into the pile.
A few people have asked why I use the fox picture everywhere.
The fox feels right.
Foxes are intelligent, watchful, curious and independent. They’re adaptable and resourceful. They can survive in all kinds of places because they pay attention, learn quickly, and work with what they’ve got.
They don’t need a pack to move through the world.
That’s the part I connect with most.
Not lonely. Not lost. Just solo.
Foxes are cautious when they need to be, bold when the moment calls for it, and smart enough not to waste energy proving themselves to every creature in the forest. They observe first. They choose carefully. They change direction when they have to.
They’re playful too, which I love. A bit mischievous. A bit hard to pin down. Able to move around obstacles, slip out of tight corners, and keep going.
That feels very Roaming Towards Myself.
Strategic. Independent. Curious. Still playful. Still building. Still moving.
So the fox has become part of it all now: my blog, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest and Etsy.
One little symbol for this whole new life I’m building as I go.
Thank you to everyone who has liked, followed, read, commented, laughed, or quietly cheered me on.
1,000 likes feels pretty damn good.
And yes, I’m behind on posting, writing, uploading, editing, promoting, sorting, organising and probably twelve other things.
Luckily, I appear to have the rest of my life to work it out.
