I know this is still small.
But to me, it doesn’t feel small.
It feels like I’m finally working on something that has been sitting inside me since I was a very young child. Writing has always been there. The ideas, the stories, the thoughts, the need to put things into words. My brain has never really switched off from yelling writing ideas at me, and now I’m finally doing something with them.
Real people I’ve never met are buying my books. They’re reading them. Some are reviewing them. Some are connecting with the words.
That is a strange and lovely feeling.
Am I about to run out and buy a castle from Amazon royalties? No.
Will I be beyond excited when my first royalty payment arrives? Absolutely yes.
Am I expecting every review to be wonderful? No.
Will I take constructive criticism on board? Yes.
Will I keep learning, keep writing, and keep developing my craft? Absolutely.
It’s very early days. I know that. Amazon is enormous, and new writers are tiny grains of sand in a very crowded landscape. But every review helps. The good ones, the less glowing ones, and even the ones that point out what could be stronger.
They all help.
They help readers decide whether to take a chance on a new writer. They help books become a little more visible. And they help writers like me keep improving.
So I just wanted to say thank you.
To everyone who has bought a book, reviewed one, shared a post, encouraged me, or read something I’ve written, I’m genuinely thankful.
It means a lot.
Deb
