My paperback edition of How’s Your Head, Mummy? is now live.
This is a gentle read-together picture book for young children who are trying to understand a parent’s hard days.
Although it was inspired by maternal depression, it may also help families where a parent is living with other chronic or invisible illnesses, such as migraine, chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue, or ongoing health conditions that children can find confusing.
The book helps reassure children that a parent being tired, sad, unwell, quiet, or not quite themselves is not the child’s fault. It also gently reminds them that they do not have to fix grown-up things, and that they are still loved, safe, and allowed to be children.
It can be read by mums, dads, grandparents, carers, aunties, uncles, teachers, or other trusted adults who want a simple way to start a hard but important conversation.
